Indigo Challenge and Color for July

I decided not to rush and quilt my indigo challenge piece.  I am still trying to figure out how I want to quilt it.  So for right now I will consider it done.

The next color is blue and I have lots of blue.  I see a blue and white quilt being made at this point.  Here is a picture of the fabrics that I have set aside to work with.
One of the furry children decided to help as I snapped the picture.

What I've been up to

Today I went to Jo Morton's Little Women Club.  There are 5 of us in the group.  We looked at the tops that we had made(see yesterdays post for a picture).  It is amazing how each one of us comes up with very different tops from some of the same fabrics.  I was very good while I was there and didn't buy anything.  There is a book in my future though.
Right now I'm waiting for a thunderstorm to pass.  It sounds pretty severe to me.  I was getting a little concerned about how hard the wind was blowing and if one of the trees would come done on the house.  The sky is getting brighter even as I type so maybe it is just a quick storm.
I hope to work on quilting my top later tonight and tomorrow.  I want it done for the quilt guild show in October.

I'm trying to get various projects completed over the summer for the show.  Hopefully I'll be able to get everything done that I want to.  I didn't find my UFO challenge so I will substitute another one that doesn't need a whole lot of work done on it.

Design Wall (Table) Monday

Yeah!  I made a design wall on Monday!  I know that it has been a while.  Today on the table is a pattern from Jo Morton, Little Women Club 10.  The top is done and I used her indigo fabrics for most of it.  The only one that doesn't have indigo in it is the red.  I was feeling patriotic. Hopefully I can get it quilted by the end of the week so that it will count toward the monochromatic challenge.

These are the fabrics that I picked up a few weeks ago at the quilt show at RIT.  I'm trying to design a pattern to turn this into a wall hanging for the guild quilt show in October.  The dragons will be a quilt for my oldest grandson.

Stash Report

What a busy week!  I did manage some sewing this week though.  I'm working on a wall hanging/table topper from Jo Morton.  Actually I'll be killing two birds with one stone with this one, as it also has mostly Indigo in it.  That will take care of my Indigo challenge this month.  Now if I could only find my UFO challenge.

What I've been up to

I know that it is Tuesday but I have been busy and haven't done any sewing again this week.  I've been running the children and grandchildren to doctors and lawyers and all sorts of places.  Saturday, I watched Jareth during the day and didn't get his picture!  I'm trying to keep pictures of the babes to watch them grow.  Sunday I helped to set the pool up only to find out that the mice had chewed a hole in it.  It goes up in the rafters of the garage.  Normally nothing happens to it but this year the darn mice had a ball.  They built nests in the garden tractor, and the push lawn mower. DH is still going through equipment to see what else they built nests into.  Monday I went to PT and when I got home did some house work.  Hand dishes and the likes.  The dogs are shedding so I swiffer of sweep every day.  After a brief nap I went and picked up Nikki and Jayden.  Jayden had a kindergarten graduation program.  The children sang and danced for their parents and the kids each received a diploma with their picture in cap and gown.  They are so cute.  I hope that now that school is half days and every one is healthy (currently) I can sit and do some sewing.  I miss the steady rhythm of my machine.

Stash Report

Another week of no sewing.  I need to take some time and get to my machine.  It was too warm most of the week.  It feels like we went from winter to summer.  High 80's and high 90's all week.  It cooled off a little yesterday, but it was still muggy.  Today it is cool and nice in between the rain.  I plan on working on my guild block tonight and some items for my secret sister at guild.  Depending on how things go, I'll try to show them tomorrow.

Stash Report

I haven't done any sewing again this week.  I did go to a quilt show in Rochester, NY at RIT.  It had almost 1000 quilts.  I hope that the pictures that I took come out.  I'm not a photographer.  DH has been in the past and takes beautiful pictures.  He is working with me to take better pictures.
I did do some shopping while I was at the show.  Not a whole lot just 7-3/4 yards.

Busy, busy, busy!

It has been crazy here for the past week and a half!  I ran new babies and mommies to doctors appointments every day last week.  With the long holiday weekend that was very hot for so early in the season.  We normally don't get 90+ degree days until July and August.  I prefer when it creeps up gradually and not slaps me in the face with the hot and muggy weather.
My daughter and her husband split up.  It is for the better, I'm sure.  I'm watching Gwyn for her so that she can get things done and decide what she is doing.  She is supposed to start college in the fall, so we are giving her all the support we can.
I haven't done any sewing and I miss the therapy.  It is one way that I work thru any problems that I'm dealing with.   There just hasn't been time.  I need to fit some in soon.  I still have to quilt the baby quilts for the new grandsons.  The tops are made, I just haven't had time to quilt them.  I want to get some baby clothes made for these grandsons too.
